Kellogg Community College’s men’s and women’s basketball teams will play their first home basketball games ever in the new Miller Gym on Friday, Nov. 9. Before the games, KCC will honor former Battle Creek Mayor Al Bobrofsky for his service to the college.

According to a news release from KCC, Bobrofsky officiated the college’s first basketball game in 1966. KCC President Mark O’Connell and KCC Athletic Director Tom Shaw will lead the presentation honoring the former official at 5:20 p.m.

In the news release, O’Connell complimented Bobrofsky by saying, “I appreciate Al’s continued service to the College and his support over the years, both as a Battle Creek mayor and TIFA board chairman.”

The women’s basketball team will play their first home game of the season in the new gym beginning at 5:30 p.m. The men’s team will begin at 7:30 p.m. All home basketball games at KCC are free to attend.
