KCC’s Opera Workshop Ensemble is performing the classic children’s holiday opera “Hansel and Gretel” at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 13 and 14 at the Binda Performing Arts Center on the North Avenue campus.

“This lively production is geared towards children of all ages with imaginative sets and costumes; however, it is a classic story that adults of all ages can enjoy,” said artistic director and conductor Dr. Gerald Case-Blanchard.

The opera is based on the classic Grimm fairy tale and has folk music inspired themes, and will be sung in English. It follows the adventure of two siblings as they get lost looking for something to eat and encounter a gingerbread house, candy and an evil witch.

General admission tickets are $5 each. Tickets are available at the door for both performances one hour prior to show start. For advanced ticket reservations and for more information about the production, send an email to blanchardg@kellogg.edu or call 269-565-7859.
