More than 350 students will walk at KCC’s Commencement Ceremony next month in downtown Battle Creek.

The ceremony will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 9, at Kellogg Arena, 36 W. Hamblin Ave. in Battle Creek. Graduates should plan to arrive at the arena for commencement by 6:15 p.m.

Associate Registrar Bobbie Brawley said the students walking at commencement are among nearly 800 who applied to graduate this semester.

Parking is free for the breakfast, rehearsal and for the ceremony. Guests do not need tickets for the ceremony.

Commencement day activities start at 8 a.m. with a breakfast (an RSVP to grad@kellogg.edu is required) followed by rehearsal, which will run approximately one hour. Starfish Awards for KCC employees nominated by students will be given out at rehearsal.

If ordering caps and gowns through KCC, students can pick up their items April 29 through May 6 at the KCC Bruin Bookstore.

Phi Theta Kappa members will be selling flowers the night of the ceremony as a fundraiser, a great way to support KCC PTK and honor a graduate.

“It is a wonderful celebration for students,” Brawley said.
