Haunted Trail is a family-friendly event that occurs every October in Marshall.

This year marks the 26th year of the event, which will run the weekends of Friday and Saturday, Oct. 19 and 20 and Oct. 26 and 27, starting from the Marshall Recreation Department at 900 S. Marshall Ave.

The event runs 8 to 10:30 p.m. Fridays and 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Saturdays. Admission is $10.

While Haunted Trail is a child-friendly event, it is supposed to be scary and there will be a few jumps. This year’s story is titled “Tomb of Frankenstein” and is themed around a mystery involving audience participation.

“We have a very different approach this year,” Haunted Trail scriptwriter Brodie Brockie said. “The show is going to be more interactive than our previous years.”

Depending on how the audience interacts with the characters, the ending of the entire show could change.

Actor Patrick Johnson described the show in three words: “Lots of fun.”

The event helps raise money for the Marshall Recreation Department so it can supply new sports gear, support next year’s show and other activities.
